Brian Lull:
Brian was seduced by the beauty and wonder of Fernie nine years ago, eight of which he has worked for FWA. He has been an avid skier for over twenty five years, fly fisherman for fifteen years and loves tearing up the mountain on his bike in the off season.
You will never question Brian’s competency as he is qualified in all areas. He is a Ski guide, fishing guide, snowcat maintenance mechanic,cat road development, ski run development and part of FWA management team.
Brian’s skills and qualifications include: professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association, three years experience with avalanche forecasting, guide training coordinator, Canadian Ski Guide Association Level 1, and is a graduate of Orvis guide training, Bombardier maintenance training, and Advanced Wilderness First Aid training.
Andre Bloemink:
Andre originates from Ontario where he received a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from UWO and still maintains a strong allegiance towards the Maple Leafs. He has been smitten with Fernie and the surrounding areas since moving out West thirteen years ago.
Andre has a passion for social responsibility and has exercised this energy in the past:, by spending five years working with young offenders in the social service wards with the Wilderness Based Experiential Education with Youth and risk population program in Calgary, he also was a volunteer fire fighter in Fernie.
Andre has been skiing in Fernie for seventeen years and worked as a team member to FWA Guiding team for ten years. The qualifications he possesses are: CAA Level 1 and currently working towards Level 2, CANSI level 1 instructor, OFA level 2, Emergency Wilderness First Aid and former helicopter pilot.
When Andre is not navigating the deep powder in the back country he enjoys sailing, cycling, and spending time with his family consisting of his wife and their two young children.
Matt Noseworthy:
Matt’s one of those Ontario imports, raised on Lake of the Woods. A love of mountains covered in fresh powder let him know Fernie was the spot in 2000. Riding snow and ice for a quarter century, it is still his Favourite winter activity. In the off season the mountains, rivers and trails are his playground.
Melding safety with maximum fun is his goal. He is a College of the Rockies, Mountain Activity Skills Training graduate from 2001. In Fernie he has worked as prep cook, maintenance /mechanic assistant, machine operator, carpenter, ski guide, and white water raft guide. A part of the FWA team for 8 years, mostly as a ski guide, but also enough maintenance, cat road/ ski run development to never allow a dull moment.
His certifications include Canadian Avalanche Association ski operations level 2, EMP advanced level 3, CASI level 1 snowboard instructor, trip leader raft guide, swift water rescue, and a red seal journeyman carpenter.
